Description:
A client of ours that designs, deploys, and optimizes microwave, mobile satellite, cellular, PCS, and fixed wireless networks worldwide would like to bring on an Electrical Engineer III on a 12-month contract.

This Electrical Engineer is responsible completing preliminary and final RF and backhaul network design. The position will compile path and site field survey data into final reports and integrate such data into an overall microwave network design. The qualified candidate will use working knowledge of backhaul systems to integrate microwave data into other hybrid networks including microwave, fiber, or other combinations of data transport. The candidate will also perform other RF design functions including Small Cell and DAS deployments along with RF safety studies. The candidate may on occasion perform field surveys to verify site parameters.

This position works as a part of a team with other engineers, technical assistants, project managers, and departments. Candidates for this position must consistently exhibit good customer service skills orally and in writing. This includes satisfactory turn-around time on projects, good organization, keeping the client informed of work status, and being responsive to client requests.

1. Design microwave networks using microwave design software tools

2. Perform RF safety studies using desktop software

3. Perform RF network design including Small Cell and DAS deployments

4. Act as lead designer for development of complete backhaul systems utilizing microwave, fiber, or other combinations of data transport.

5. Compile technical reports utilizing field collected path and site survey data

6. Conduct path surveys in the field to verify line-of-sight objectives

7. Conduct site surveys to identify antenna placement locations or verify other network design parameters

8. Serve as liaison between client, industry consultants and internal engineering staff

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 5 to 8 years’ experience

- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time

- Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of:

- Microwave path design

-Microwave path survey process

-Microwave propagation

-Point to multipoint access technologies such as LMDS, WiFi, WiMAX

-PDH, SDH/SONET, and OTN interfaces

-Capacity planning for backhaul networks

-Experience with geographic coordinate systems and map datums

-RF propagation

-RF power density measurements

-Technologies such as CDMA, GSM, UMTS and LTE.

-Proficiency in Windows suite of office tools
