Network IT Administrator

Our Information Technology Network Administrator will ensure the availability and functionality of all information technology networking systems. In this role, the IT Network Administrator will report to the IT Administrator, work closely with the CTO, and interact with local and offshore departments supporting various operational initiatives. This role requires a highly resourceful individual with emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and integrity. A composed demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow through are a must.

Configures, installs, maintains, and documents network hardware, software and telecommunications services such routers, switches, firewalls, PBX, phones, printers, site to site VPNs, ISP connections, client VPN; for local and remote offices as well as cloud hosted environments.

Implements policies and procedures related to hardware and software support, security and backup. Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, and security. Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and operation of various software programs.

Develops and communicates standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers and data.  Communicates and coordinates network schedule, backups and downtime to users. Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.

Job Description:

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 7,8,10 and Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 Operating Systems.
  • Knowledge of Networking Infrastructure, data communication theory, and network operating systems and protocols, including WINs, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, and SMTP.
  • Familiarity with IPV4 and IPV6 networks and routing concepts, including Cisco routers and switches; Meraki security appliances and switches. Ability to design and implement IP address space changes and create/assign VLANs.
  • Helps manage physical security (alarms, video surveillance, access)
  • Prepares network performance/security reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Provide project and technology budgeting and cost models.
  • Reviews and evaluates vendor products (software, services, and hardware) networking, and VOIP equipment.
  • Take incoming calls, emails and walk-ups related to all IT issues and requests for resolution or escalation.
  • Document solutions to new problems and share with the rest of the team including maintenance/creation of logical and functional diagrams.
  • Work with vendors to resolve issues either onsite or on the phone.
  • Available for occasional after-hours maintenance activities.
  • Assists IT team with daily operational tasks, ID administration, server support, and cloud initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Sangoma FreePBX is a plus
  • Knowledge of Azure a plus
  • Administration of Office 365 a plus
