The Software Engineer’s role is to research, design, implement and troubleshoot software programs and applications, with a focus on the Microsoft Dynamics AX software solution, including customizations and third-party extensions. This position will be responsible for Dynamics AX system enhancements and implementation.
Act as the primary point of contact for Dynamics AX software enhancements, upgrades, and technical support. Collaborate with IT analysts and designers in this activity.
Design, develop, test and implement Business Intelligence solutions and Microsoft SSRS reporting solutions.
Develop operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements.
Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance using VB.Net.
Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures.
Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.
Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system
Research, implement, and document program requirements and specifications.
Oversee the quality assurance of program logic, data processing, and error resolution.
Execute and monitor performance tests on new and existing software for the purposes of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
Liaise with company’s software and hardware suppliers for prompt resolution of any problems or emergencies.
Interact with other IT staff members to resolve any defects in products or company systems.
Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of Dynamics AX development best practices.
- Four-year college or university degree in software engineering or computer science.
- 3+ years of experience as a software developer.
- May work remotely but onsite visits are required
