Job Description

Volt is hiring for a direct hire position for one of it's client;s in the Apex area. This position, is full time with a 40 plus hour work week. Work schedule is Mon-Fri, additional hours during the weekends might be necessary to include overtime as needed.  

Summary

The Slotter optimizes the use of the building’s cube space in a distribution warehouse environment to streamline operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategize product management using slotting philosophy
  • Optimize operations by slotting, re-slotting product, and storage locations
  • Determine and maintain location, zone setup, and zone maintenance
  • Determine and maintain product statistics, configuration, and master data
  • Resolve daily product issues
  • Resolve daily inventory control issues
  • Process obsolete products through ECR/ECN procedure
  • Operate Cubiscan for material data
  • Follow safety regulations
  • Perform other related duties, as required or directed

Skill Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent 
  • 3-6 years distribution or warehouse experience
  • Operate all PIV’S (including standup forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker, etc.) to pick, move, stack and stage product and materials
  • Ability to consistently lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to consistently move in a full-range of motion
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced AS400 knowledge - Ability to operate WMS work query functions and transactions
  • Ability to operate WMS test environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Access & Word)
  • Understanding and participation in 5S concepts and events
  • Understanding and participation in lean events (kaizen, root cause countermeasures, etc.)
