We are looking to hire a Permanent Aerospace Inspection Technician Assembly for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON

Job Description:

  • Number of positions available: 3 positions at the following shifts below ALL at 37.5 hours per week:
    • 1 role for a Weekend Day shift: Fri to Sun from 6am-6pm EST
    • 1 role for a Weekend Night shift: Fri to Sun from 6pm-6am EST
    • 1 role for an Afternoon shift: Mon-Fri from 3pm-11pm EST
  • Pay Rate: $26.15 - $36.41/hr (T4) /Annual Salary ($51K-71K) based on experience
  • Work Location: Oakville, ON L6L 5Y7

SUMMARYReporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control, as the Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection and acceptance of in-process and completed Landing Gear Assemblies, and related detailed components.

• Perform First Article Inspection of Landing Gear parts to Drawing as per AS9102
• Perform inspection & acceptance of detail parts with flexibility of working in machining, surface finishing, and assembly shops following LG quality procedures and specific instructions
• Evaluate products for acceptance criteria and initiate rejection process where required
• Complete diverse paperwork and systems records for traceability and movement of products; perform product and process audits
• Perform work safely with heavy parts using a variety of inspection tools
• Apply 5S workplace organization & follow the companies Lean initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned
Note 1: the qualified applicant will be required after adequate training and experience, to certify & buy-off products or assembly units for shipments
Note 2: you must be able to participate in the AOG (Aircraft On Ground) on-call rotation schedule.

• College Diploma in a related technical discipline
• 3-5 years inspection experience ideally within machine shop, surface finishing,component assembly and/or MRB
• Completion of relevant quality control certification CGSB Level 1 Visual would be an asset
• Experience with standards and/or equivalent quality, military, or government standards in the Aerospace industry
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and adhere to drawings, specifications, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and related quality control documentation and standards
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
• Excellent organization skills. Willingness to work with a team, share expertise, and follow instructions to accomplish established goals
• Standard computer skills, knowledge of SAP and CATIA would be an asset
• ASQ CQT is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment
• Successful candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
