Job Summary: Allergy technicians are the key to a good allergy practice. They are responsible for all aspects of the allergy clinic. Allergy technicians perform specialized skin tests that can help diagnose an allergy. They will oversee allergy testing, mixing of vials, contacting patients, scheduling allergy procedures, administering shots and all other duties related to the allergy practice.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2+ years of equivalent work experience in a healthcare industry
  • Allergy specialty clinic experience required
  • Must be bilingual-fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Must be able to travel within our various Los Angeles based clinics
  • Medical Assistant/ Nurse Assistant Certification or similar certification (PCT, SRT, Pharm Tech, & etc)
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, physicians, and staff
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a relatively unsupervised environment with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to operate various office equipment necessary to perform job functions
  • Team player with a pleasant attitude towards the practice of medicine

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivering an incredible patient experience with safe and efficacious clinical outcomes to include the administration of quality allergy testing, and the formulation and preparation of the allergy regiment
  • Educating patients on proper administration of injections as well as advocating for strong compliance throughout their treatment plan.
  • Ensuring that patients complete all appropriate paperwork and that insurance eligibility is verified for each patient prior to test and immunotherapy as appropriate.
  • Handling and submission of all billing documentation to the appropriate office.
  • To make sure the room is clean and prepped to start bringing in patients for the day
  • Check allergy testing tray to make sure tray is full to administer tests for the day
  •  Check allergy schedule to see if there are any add on appointments
  • Make sure all the supplies needed for the next day are fully stocked
  • Check testing tray to see if a refill is needed
  • Make sure all allergy shots vials are put away at end of day in secure location
  • Developing and maintaining effective, professional relationships with providers and medical office staff.
  • Send the end of day summary report to management and providers
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
