Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is looking for a Node.js Developer to manage the interchange of data between the server and the users for our client, a major financial institution. In this role, you would be responsible for the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You would also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application, requiring a basic understanding of front-end technologies in addition to back-end development.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Development of Node.js service
  • Buildout of CDx System
  • Agile meetings and reporting
  • Developing, coding, testing and debugging new software or making significant improvements to existing software
  • Assistance in resolving problems with software functionality and suggesting improvements.
  • Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
  • Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
  • Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
  • Implementation of security and data protection
  • Integration of data storage solutions
Must-Have Skills:
  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript (targeting 7+ years, minimum 5)
  • Knowledge of Node.js and frameworks available for it (express) (targeting 7+ years, minimum 5)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5 and CSS3
  • Willingness to take charge of overall design, development and team coordination on the business system/application
Bonus Skills:
  • Background in financial services and application development
  • Strong front-end development experience
  • Technical leadership skills
