Job Description

The Area Director is responsible for the continued development and profitability of their organization by setting the strategic priorities and sales/service direction for their branch offices, effective hiring and continued development of area personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview and recommend quality candidates for branch management and sales positions while exercising sound judgment and hiring decisions.
  • Hiring train and develop area/branch personnel. Initiate and approve terminations when required.
  • Coordination and support of all sales efforts including development and motivation of the sales staff. Handle sales for house accounts. Expanding business through phone calls, personal visits and customer lunches. In conjunction with the sales efforts, the Area Manager helps to set the sales strategy and direction for their offices.
  • Coordination and supervision of the area's recruiting efforts of temporary personnel through contact with a variety of recruiting sources and print advertising.
  • Coordination and supervision of functions that ensure total customer satisfaction, excellent service and successful temporary assignments, and promote good employee relations between temporary and in-house personnel.
  • Supervision of the administrative work of the branch offices, daily, weekly and monthly reports, correspondence, paperwork initiating payroll and billing functions.
  • Drive diversification of business by skill set, size of customer and service offering.
  • Coordinate/prepare bids, proposals and presentations determining or recommending billing rates for customers to obtain premium income.
  • Create Area business plans and sales strategy and drive business improvement initiatives
  • Supervise all branch office budgets, including expenses and variable overhead items as well as responsibility for the profit and loss of the area.
  • Supervision of staff functions including benefits, worker's compensation, wage and salary, fair employment practices, affirmative action and other state and Federal regulations and employment laws.
  • Provide effective leadership through motivation and staff development by mentoring, training and promoting staff.

Position Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • 5 years Staffing Branch Manager experience required
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in comparable field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
