Job Description

Associate Project Manager

This is an estimated 3 month temporary position, in Renton, WA and is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support many of the top rated Pacific Northwest companies.

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for implementing and managing projects and processes that are small in scope and complexity from start to finish. They may also be asked to support a PM on a large complex project. This role will manage all aspects of assigned work with direct accountability to the senior manager. The Associate Project Manager is responsible for ensuring their assigned operations and projects are planned and executed in a collaborative and efficient manner and have goals and objectives that are in alignment with priorities and strategic objectives. The Associate Project Manager manages planning and execution of optimization projects, initiatives, and programs of small to medium scale and complexity. Defines, documents, implements, and manages cross functional processes and policies to support operational needs. Develops project charter and work break down structure and gains sponsor approval and sign-off.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for facilitating communication to internal and external customers.
  • Develop process maps and recommends process improvements to support increased Project Manager efficiencies.
  • Provides project status reporting. Facilitates regular reporting by conducting status meetings and other means as appropriate. Maintains own project files.
  • Works independently and manages time effectively. Makes informed decisions about where to invest efforts based on established priorities
  • Performs assigned individual project task or modules and contributes to the completion of team tasks accurately and timely.
  • Provides project information in a timely manner to project sponsors, stakeholders and process owners.
  • Develops and manages optimization program and project communications, including regular program updates and project status reports.
  • Bachelor's Degree Education in Project Management methodology is preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Required/Preferred Minimum Experience Details
  • Required Up to 2 years requires up to 2 years of project management experience.
  • Preferred 2 years Creating and executing strategic plans for healthcare information services operations and support
  • Preferred 2 years Application management - system deployment, support, and life cycle.
  • Preferred 2 years Process improvement methodology, change management and operational improvement in complex systems.
  • Ability to interact and communicate at all levels of organization
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and to organize workload to ensure that time-frames are met and the work is successfully completed within deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet, Email)
  • Intermediate understanding of Project Management methodology and practices
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the trends and changes taking place in healthcare
