Job Description


Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Engineering Applications Business Analyst.  The Engineering Applications Analyst is responsible for analyzing & understanding business needs then driving process efficiency, striving for standardization & consolidation across the enterprise. Works closely with IS & business personnel across the enterprise as a partner & resource to ensure application availability, upgrades & performance with a continuous focus on process & cost improvement, & compliance of our key commercial of-the-shelf (COTS) enterprise engineering applications: EGAD, MCAD, CAE, PLM, simulation & analysis, & software engineering.

  • Design, implement & manage an enterprise wide software license management infrastructure that offers high availability & license monitoring while facilitating cost efficiencies of enterprise license sharing
  • Install & upgrade license manager systems, related license files & perform moderate to high-level application license problem support.
  • Manage application installs & licensing & apply application security for the designated enterprise business applications
  • Project manages application upgrades & patching including auxiliary applications as part of the release & change management process
  • Coordinate license maintenance renewals & license agreements between the business, the vendor & internal Supply Chain
  • Optimize the license agreements so that they balance budgetary goals while; complying with company requirements & standards, & minimizing risk impact to the business
  • Recommend & set standards for hardware based on software requirements
  • Proactively monitor & troubleshoot the license management system performance & license usage of engineering software, & ensure successful annual audits
  • Follow ITIL-based processes for Change Management, Incident Management & Problem Management including communication of application service interruptions
  • Initiate best practices of disaster recovery, performance & security of applications
  • Work with the team to create & maintain documentation for standard procedures & support requirements & participate in cross-training with other team members
  • Available for after-hours work such as software updates & on-call support based on team rotation
  • Participate in & lead technology enhancements & related projects
  • Support/Direct Local Site Administrators


Must have a minimum of two years in an engineering license management role. This person will be responsible for analyzing license usage & forecasting when additional licenses will be required as well as looking for synergies or areas where we are overprovisioned (license reclamation).

• Knowledge of FlexLM type application license management technologies
• Working knowledge of database & web server technologies
• Familiar with application integration concept & technologies
Bottom three skills (skills that would be a red flag) :
• Manages licenses in spreadsheet (excel)

Security Clearance:
Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
