Job Description


This company in Wilsonville, Oregon is seeking a Buyer for a contract hire role. To provide cost effective and timely materials in support of our projects to deliver machines we can be proud of to our clients. The selected candidate will manage RFQ’s, purchase orders, and expedites from approved vendors per assigned commodities. Analyze quotations received, select or recommend suppliers with whom orders are to be placed.

Negotiate better pricing to reduce project costs. Help to set up and/or qualify new vendors, as needed. Participate in cross-functional teams for category specific projects delivering savings and efficiencies. Participate in procurement/supply chain improvement initiatives, as assigned. Maintain positive vendor relationships. Maintain a positive, productive relationship with project teams. Follow department policy and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess an Associate degree; Bachelor’s preferred. Over 3+ years of relevant professional experience. APICS CPIM certification/CSCP certification a plus

Working knowledge of procurement best practices, processes and procedures. Experience with Epicor ERP (Version 10+) preferred. Utilizes available systems and resources effectively within the scope of the work being performed. Communication: Recognizes value of continuous information exchange. Actively seeks and disseminates information both in person and through use of technology. Demonstrates active listening and shares ideas, opinions, and feedback in a diplomatic and constructive manner. Raises issues and offers potential solutions that take into account all functions.

Demonstrated skill in negotiating. Knowledge of procurement in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with MRP/ERP software and systems. Excellent customer service skills. Problem solving, system and methods improvement skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
