Position Overview:

Sets up and operates HAAS computer numerical controlled (CNC) mills and lathes to produce precision metal components, inspects product to drawing specifications, recognizes machining issues and is able to make mechanical or offsetting adjustments as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations Program CNC mills and lathes using MasterCam according to drawing or CAD model
  • Plans machining following supervisor and /or work orders in a First-in First-out order to assure work completion to production plan.
  • Inspection of first article part utilizing calipers, Micrometers and high level of detail
  • Primary focus is on production, product quality and accuracy        
  • Identifies machining issues and makes supervisor know of any abnormalities and maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Documents production log recording parts produced and time of tasks completion
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Must have basic of cutting tools, fixtures, tool holders, and other accessories.

Qualifications & Skills:

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5-year prior experience in operating CNC mills and lathes
  • Ability to set up machines quickly and accurately for next job                                            
  • Strong levels of organization, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.  
  • Ability to read blue prints and mechanical drawings                                                         
  • Ability to read measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to use basic shop mathematics specifically addition and subtraction
