Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring for a CNC Machinist in Point Loma

This opportunity will be working with a leader in Environmental/Oceanic studies with the Pacific Ocean as your workplace view!!! This role will require machining by hand and operating computer controlled shop machinery including 3-axis CNC machine and 2-axis Proto Trak mill and lathe machine. 

• Machine to close tolerance oceanographic equipment using 3-axis CNC mill & lathe machinery.
• Machine to close tolerance oceanographic equipment using 2-axis Proto Trak mill and lathe machinery. 
• Machine to close tolerance using manual machining techniques.
• Fabricate from various materials and designs, work from blueprints, rough drafts, sketches and verbal instructions. 
• Perform detailed machining on components of the Whole Ski Imager program. 
• Painting and preserving: selects proper coating for different applications, provide estimates for materials.
• Maintain and operate sandblasting machine, paint parts and equipment, be familiar with post coating procedures, anodize and paint. 
• Conduct preservation and painting on ships and of seagoing equipment. 
• Perform basic maintenance on marine equipment. 

Requirements:

Must have Lathe and Mill experience

6+ years’ experience in CNC preferred

Pay: 

$25 to $34/hr DOE
