Volt is actively recruiting for a CNC Maintenance Mechanic to work with a Aerospace and Defense company in the city of Irvine, CA
2nd shift
Pay Rate: Depending on experience
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees the repair and maintenance of production equipment.
- Provides input into the selection of production equipment.
- Oversees the installation and start-up of new equipment.
- Diagnose equipment problems using error codes, symptoms and diagnostic equipment.
- Provide for the repair of equipment through specifying and ordering parts, arranging for outside service, installation of repair parts and follow up to ensure that the repairs were effective.
- Evaluate, design and install upgrades to equipment.
- Provide routine specialized preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Stays current with machine technologies
- Direct the activities of helpers.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must have at least five years of experience as a facility maintenance mechanic. 5+ years of related experience repairing CNC machines.
- Must have experience in the repair and maintenance of metal cutting machines.
- Familiarization with circuit diagrams, engineering drawings and service manuals.
- Able to use specialized equipment such PLC software and volt meters.
- Strong mechanical ability to disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical systems and devices.
- Familiar with the repair of CNC machines produced by Mazak, Hardinge and/or Miyano.
- Mathematical Skill – Demonstrate the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
- Blueprint Reading & Interpretation – Demonstrate the ability to reliably read and interpret the following: drawing terms; call outs; symbols and/or descriptions; types of lines; front view; side view; top view; section view; types of radii; tolerances (min. and max.); external/internal thread; surface finish; fastener-related specifications.
- Workmanship – Ability to identify and take appropriate action to prevent, correct, or reject the following conditions on die and tools parts: cracks; nicks, scratches and dents.
