Job Description

This aerospace company in Everett, WA is a world class manufacturer of multi-axis milled, turned, and assembled aerospace components.  Founded in 1974 this company recently expanded into a new 60,000 square foot, state of the art, climate-controlled facility and is seeking a CNC Programmer to join the team.

Position: CNC Programmer

Location: Everett, WA

Pay: DOE

Job Summary:

CNC Programmer plans numerical control programs to control contour path machining of metal parts on automatic machine tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates
  • Determines reference points and direction of machine cutting paths
  • Computes angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part
  • Writes instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine
  • Writes program of machine instructions in symbolic language to encode numerical control tape or direct numerical control database to regulate movement of machine along cutting path
  • Revises program to eliminate instruction errors or omissions
  • Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Attributes:

  • Collaborates with external and internal customers, including Manufacturing and Quality Assurance staff, to resolve issues and meet customer specifications
  • Works independently, follows instructions and can concentrate for long periods of time
  • Tolerates multiple interruptions throughout the day and can multi- task

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Two years CNC machine operation experience
  • Two years CAD experience
