Job Description

ETL / Data Developer

We are looking for a Data / ETL Engineer with strong technical proficiency in SQL development to build an ETL pipeline for enterprise data warehouse. The successful candidate will be a well-rounded data warehouse developer with vast experience in ETL tools, SQL development and query performance tuning. Experience in database design, data modeling, data warehousing and effectively communicating with others is a must. The day-to-day will be creating and updating ETL processes using Scala Spark, SparkSQL and Airflow.


  • Work with Descriptive Analytics team to provide normalized data across all game titles
  • Choose appropriate level of data extraction when designing and implementing tables in the data lake
  • Partner with our Call of Duty Mobile team to understand player engagement, satisfaction, etc.
  • Write code that reliably extracts data from REST service calls and then load it into the data lake
  • Work with data scientists on churn models, ad metrics, etc.
  • Mentor analysts and data scientists on ways to improve their SQL queries
  • Be a role model in engineering best practices and design/coding standard
  • Collaborate with the other team members across different teams
  • Support other colleagues within the Data ETL team


  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing extract-transform-load (ETL).
  • 5+ years of experience in working in SQL using relational/columnar databases such as Redshift, Postgres, etc.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data lakes
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience using Spark in Scala.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with schema design and data modeling in a big data setting.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience working with AWS.
  • 2+ years hands-on experience using Git performing merges.
  • 2+ years requesting data using asynchronous REST calls.
  • 2+ years using Presto.
  • 2+ years using Hive on Tez.
  • 2+ years in NoSQL databases like Bigtable, Cassandra, HBase, etc.
  • 1+ years in functional programming.
  • 1+ years of using an effects library like Cats IO, ScalaZ or Zio.
  • Understand the concepts behind machine learning features.
  • Have read the red book and understand it.
  • Experience with privacy legislation such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.
  • Understand how Tableau extracts work.
