Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong circuit card design skills and hardware development experience to join our team. This position will support the Multi-Function RF System for our client  located in McKinney, Texas.

The MFRFS product line utilizes state-of-the-art technologies and real time computing architectures to provide next-generation radar capabilities to our customers.

  • The candidate will be responsible for circuit card design and leading the hardware development of a radar receiver exciter.
  • The selected candidate will be expected to lead diverse teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the Engineering organization to establish technology roadmaps, and contribute to general innovation.
  • In addition, the candidate will work with government personnel and programs, and define and refine requirements to validate hardware compliance.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees within the candidate’s areas of expertise.
  • As a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, it is expected that the candidate works across Product Lines and Business Units to shape the future of the enterprise.
  • Additionally, a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer must seek out and establish mentorships to enable a teaching culture.

Required Experience and Skills:  

  • 12+ years of applicable experience focused on architecting, designing, implementing, and testing radar receiver exciters
  • Experience with high-speed mixed signal circuit card design and/or high-density, high-speed digital circuit card design
  • Experience with FPGAs and/or embedded processors
  • Demonstrated experience managing and presenting technical data to stakeholders and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings
  • Must have an active DoD Secret

Clearance Required: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Education:  

Bachelor of Science (BS) in math, engineering, science or related technical field.

Desired Experience and Skills:  

  • Masters of Science (MS) or PhD in electrical engineering
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sources
  • Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interaction
  • Demonstrated ability to put forth and drive technical execution plans
  • Technical leadership with capture/pursuit experience, including contribution or authoring of white papers, RFI responses, proposal of technical volumes, or related experience
  • Knowledgeable of management processes, such as IPDS, EVMS, etc.
  • Experience with hardware/firmware/software integration and test
  • Experience with COTS processor cards
  • Experience with design for export
  • Broad knowledge of radar systems to understand system level requirements allocation and dependencies
  • Familiarity with all stages of the radar system product lifecycle, including early concept/trade studies, design, integration, verification, and transition to production
  • Familiarity with assessing program level risks to performance objectives and communicating status to business leadership and customer community

Security Clearance:
Applicants selected must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
