Job Description
Lead engineer for North American aftermarket automotive immobilization and remote entry devices and programming products used for origination and duplication of the devices.
- Partner with Automotive Product managers to identify product needs and priorities.
- Lead and participate in global projects. Coordinate new product and product lifecycle management activities with global automotive R&D team.
- Partner with global suppliers to develop and introduce new products in the market (International travel).
- Reverse engineer and troubleshoot RFID, aftermarket automotive immobilization and remote entry solutions and products.
- Test and validate products on vehicles. Generate test plans and test reports. Travel to various automotive test site lots to perform vehicle testing.
- Troubleshoot product function using aftermarket and OEM diagnostic tools and PC applications.
- Manage FCC and international RF governmental certifications.
- Design and build automotive functional demo units to demonstrate products and train customers.
- Design, build, install and maintain automotive product production test equipment to validate product quality and perform pre-coding operations.
- Train technical support representatives. Provide support training materials.
- Various production area assignments (Industry 4.0)
Job Requirements
- 3+ years experience Electrical Engineering
- BS Electrical Engineering computer science or related engineering discipline
- Knowledge of RFID systems, hardware and firmware development.
- Knowledge of programming languages (C and similar).
- Familiarity with FCC and international RF governmental requirements.
- CAD systems (SolidWorks) and 3-D printing knowledge desired.
