Job Description

POSITION NAME:  Electronic Technician                       Printed Circuit Solutions

                                                                                         LOCATION:  Naperville

PRIMARY PURPOSE:      

Production role focused on assembling, inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical circuit assemblies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Inspect assemblies as they come off the assembly line to ensure they meet IPC or documented quality standards.
  2. Repair, when possible, electrical circuits using standard soldering methods and techniques.
  3. Hand solder through-hole (PTH) and surface mount (SMT) for purposes of low-volume production, test development, or product development.
  4. Assemble circuits for development purposes by following written drawings, sketches, and verbal instruction.
  5. Perform basic electrical test and measurement using digital multimeter (DMM), power supplies, and oscilloscope.  Record measurements in spreadsheets or written journals.
  6. Cut, splice, and crimp wire assemblies.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED:             

  • High school diploma.

PREFERRED:        

  • Electrical technician, avionics, or military training.
  • IPC A-610 certification.
  • Associates degree in electronics.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

  • Experience working in production environment.

PREFERRED:        

  • 2 years performing development or technician work.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

REQUIRED:  

  • Hand soldering of wire, through hole, and surface mount devices.
  • Ability to work with a microscope.
  • Ability to use basic test instruments such as multimeter, power supply, and oscilloscope.
  • Basic computer skills including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read electrical schematic.
  • Equipment maintenance experience a plus.
