EMC Test Engineer – Peachtree City, GA

12 month contract

Volt Workforce Solutions is proud to partner with a client who is recognized as a top 20 global supplier by Automotive News to some of the world’s leading vehicle makers to help define the future of transportation.  This is a 12 month contract as an EMC Test Engineer in their Peachtree City, GA location.

As an experienced EMC Test Engineer, you will:

• Conduct manual and/or automated EMC test according to established test procedures, test specifications and product test plan.

• Coordinates support and perform extensive EMC testing at multiple stages of product cycle: product development (EV), design validation (DV) and process validation (PV).

• Ensure tests are performed using appropriate equipment and procedures, ensuring that all related test documentation, including reports, is accurate and complete per quality and technical requirement of ISO 17025.

• Ensure strict adherence to Quality Control and Proficiency Test Plan For Accredited Test Laboratories at following technical disciplines: Radiated Emissions, Conducted Emissions, ESD, Radiated Immunity, BCI, Conducted Transient Immunity and electrical tests.

• Analyzes EMC test data, resolve test disputes by reviewing test specifications, pass/fail criteria, and test processes with design engineer, test technician, and management, making modifications as necessary.

• Evaluates a product to ensure compliance with customer specifications including applicable industry and regulatory EMC standards.

• Provides test expertise in the EMC area to various product development groups.

• Responsible for construct, troubleshoot and debug test system in the area of expertise.

• Provides support for lab’s quality management system per ISO17025 & IATF 16949 and for sustaining PASA EMC lab’s GM, Ford & FCA recognition status.

• Works and communicates with design engineers to understand product EMC requirements. Develops test requirements to properly verify electrical changes to current products.

• Works and communicates with other validation test engineers to create the EMC section of product specific DVP&R and to provide regular project status updates to team members.

• Works and communicates with test development engineers (TDE) to acquire/assemble DUT control and monitoring test equipment, create test script and fabricate RF hardened test fixture for assigned projects.

• Works and communicates with design engineering and third-party laboratories to determine test schedules, budgets and deadlines.

• Tracks work performed to ensure that testing is completed accurately, completely and within the project timing.

• Participate in internal audit and drive continuous improvement activity.

• Responsible for setup and maintain the test lab, using good lab practice.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with understanding of electrical engineering practices, principles, processes and systems or equivalent technical experience.

• Previous work experience (4+ years) in EMC laboratory performing test.

• Working knowledge of DMM, Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Signal Generators, RF amplifier, Antennas, ESD simulators etc.

• Working knowledge of MS Office package. (MS word, MS excel, MS project, MS Power point, MS VISIO)

• Good understanding of grounding, shielding, transmission line and role of cross talk in modern electronic design.
