Job Description

Volt is currently searching for a Engine Controls Calibration Engineer  who has experience with but not limited to:

  • Develop and validate engine calibration in-car and in the test cell.
  • Characterize engine related sub-systems (e.g., exhaust system, evaporative (EVAP) purge system) to feed into hardware, electrical, and control system development.
  • Develop software requirements necessary to integrate the engine and related sub-systems into the vehicle, including hybrid interface requirements.
  • Develop application-specific diagnostic monitor requirements and aid in calibration and commissioning.
  • Perform necessary testing, development, and validation to integrate the engine into the vehicle.
  • Troubleshoot and track engine controls related issues that arise in development.  Derive necessary new requirements and drive the issues to resolution.
  • Perform environmental testing and calibration including hot weather, high altitude, and cold weather development trips.
  • Represent the engine controls team in collaboration with powertrain systems and other relevant engineering teams to develop new strategies.
  • Take part in the definition of engine management system requirements to integrate into our specific architecture and achieve all regulatory requirements.
  • Take part in the development and implementation of system-level requirements with Hybrid Controls, Powertrain Hardware, Thermal, and Powertrain Systems groups.
