We are actively seeking an Environmental Monitoring Technician for our client in Raleigh, NC. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic company in the pharmaceutical industry.

The duration of the assignment is up to six months.  

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 11:00PM - 7:30AM SUNDAY - THURSDAY.

MUST BE FLEXIBILE TO WORK OTHER SHIFTS AS NEEDED.

The EM Technician will be responsible for performing routine environmental monitoring to assess the viable and nonviable particulate levels within classified manufacturing rooms and support rooms.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Conduct viable and nonviable environmental monitoring throughout facility, including aseptic processing areas and classified manufacturing areas (Compounding, Component Preparation, Vial Wash, and Dispensary).
  • Collect facility waters and submit for testing.
  • Accurately record results of above testing and promptly report any discrepancies or out of limit conditions to supervisor.
  • Perform Aseptic Gowning Training and certification sampling.
  • Requisition of materials, maintaining inventory.
  • Receive and store prepared media.
  • Prepare environmental monitoring plates and EM test reports for aseptic processing area.
  • Perform disinfection of incubator rooms weekly.
  • Follow safety requirements and maintains good housekeeping of laboratory area.
  • Incubate and inspect media fill units.
  • Incubate and examine samples for microbial growth.
  • Enumerate bacteria and report excursions.
  • Responsible for temperature charts for incubators and refrigerators in the Microbiology Laboratory.
  • Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. in science or equivalent experience.
  • Must be flexible for working across shifts as needed (1st shift, 2nd shift, 3rd shift or Weekend).
  • A minimum of one year of GMP experience.
  • Microbiology experience strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand or walk up to 8 hours ( 4 hours at a time for aseptic processing area)
  • Lift or move up to 35 pounds
  • Reach with hands and arms up to 6 hours
  • Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to 1 hour
  • Gowning certification required
