Job Description

Volt has partnered with a leader in providing all natural, high-quality food that is safe and healthy for the whole family who is now hiring for a Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for evaluating employee programs, recommending improvements to employee relations policies and making sure that all employee-related policies in each department align with our corporate goals and established regulations. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  2. Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  3. Assists with the implementation and annually updates the compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  4. Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
  5. Develops and files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  6. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and employee relations counseling; conducts exit interviews.
  7. Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff and Operations meetings.  Attends other meetings as necessary.
  8. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  9. Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  10. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the hiring of the employees within that department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree and three years of human resource experience, or five years of experience in the human resource field.

Preferred Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in human resource management or business administration.
