Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring for Molding Process Manufacturing Technician in Millersburg, PA for 2nd shift (4:00pm-1:30am) and you would work Monday-Friday.

The Molding Process Technician would be working with the quality team to develop test procedures for new products. You would be working with valve gate tools, hot manifolds, over molding, insert molding, double shot molding and rotating core movement.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working around injection molding machines, automation, and injection molds. Also, you will be setting up the configuration of pressure decay testing and validating that process. 

Required:

  • On the job training with supplemented external coursework as needed.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Follow all safety and cGMP requirements
  • Follow work instruction document, standard operating procedures, and standard works Participate in PPI (Practical Process Improvement)
  • Lean and Continuous Improvement, and 5S activities
  • Maintain, modify and enhance injection molding processes to minimize scrap, reduce downtime and optimize cycle time, including programming and setting up parameters of injection molding machines
  • Respond to problems by performing corrective technical solutions or ability to troubleshoot plastic injection molding problems
  • Participate or lead in troubleshooting and problem-solving projects on any production related problems
  • Recommend modifications to exist methods or procedures
  • Troubleshoot all assigned equipment problems and monitor the operation of equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork, work orders, inventory requests, and requisitions.
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings and print reading Keep shop and lab area clean and organized.
  • Keep current in maintenance and calibration technology
  • Material handling and mixing of resins
  • Forklift experience a plus

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with little or no supervision Knowledge of safety practices
  • Knowledge of how to use power and hand tools associated with a typical industrial environment.
  • Knowledge in technical trades: electrical, electronic, pneumatic, plumbing, and mechanical.
  • Understanding of MS Office
  • Ability to work flexible hours if needed
  • Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: 1-3 years of related experience
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively solve complex technical problems
  • Ability to remain calm and effectively resolve potentially harmful/stressful situations
  • Post HS training

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and push/pull up to 150+ lbs on regular basis
  • Frequent stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, climbing, pulling, grasping, and crawling Work conditions can include
  • Maintenance shop, lab environment

A GED or High School Diploma is required.
