Volt Workforce Solutions is currently recruiting for an organized and adaptable multi-tasker who thrives in a fast paced environment to help a local manufacturing company provide superior products and dependable service to their customers. 

Job Duties

  • Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
  • Work with purchasing/planners on inventory levels.
  • Supervise and coordinate a standardized annual physical inventory for location.
  • Identify major inventory control weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement standard procedures and coordinate inventory transfers between locations.
  • Responsible for physical organization and storage of inventory.
  • Identify damaged, obsolete and slow moving inventory items.
  • Responsible for employee evaluations for direct reports.
  • Oversee the entire materials department, including warehouse and yard personnel.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following traits, knowledge, and experience.

  • Understanding of internal controls.
  • Working knowledge of MRP.
  • Strong systems background.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent experience or 10 years or more in manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing with inventory control experience, preferably with steel products preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years supervisory experience preferred.
