Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is partnering with a large aerospace manufacturing organization in search of a dynamic Journeyman Mold Maker.

POSITION SUMMARY As a member of our Tool Room team, you will be responsible for manufacturing molds and tooling used in Injection Molding, Overmolding and other Departments within the company. You will work closely with your Tool Room Associates, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineers and Mold and the Tooling Designer. This role will also provide technical support to help troubleshoot and solve problems the Injection Molding Department impacting tools, safety relative to Molding and Overmolding technologies. Your primary activity will be as follow:
? Support the manufacturing of “New” Plastic Injection Molds and related items.
? Incorporate Engineering changes and repairs on existing molds and tooling.
? Work with Injection Molding on set-up and sampling of Tooling manufactured or repaired to qualify the mold for production.
? Work closely with fellow Tool Room Associates and share your experiences and knowledge with them to further everyone’s abilities.
Leadership responsibilities include:
? Performing your Mold Making duties within a Team Environment, working closely and mentoring others when needed.
? Working as a Project Leader on various projects when needed from inception to completion, including assigning and instructing fellow Associates that are assigned to the project.
? Exhibit a strong manufacturing ethic while working closely with Engineering and the Manufacturing Engineering groups.
? Communicate closely with all areas of operations and personnel from all Departments.

? Minimum of 7-10 years Technical experience in the manufacturing of plastic injection molds and tooling for various applications.
? Familiarity with the Injection Molding Process.
? The knowledge and abilities to set-up and operate the following machines and equipment:
a) Manual Vertical Milling machines
b) Manual Lathes
c) Manual and Automatic Surface Grinders
d) Cut-off and Band Saws
e) Drill Presses and Bench Grinders
f) Manual EDM machines
g) Measuring Equipment, Height Gages, Comparators and misc. hand tools.
h) CNC Wire EDM machines
i) CNC EDM Sinker Machines
j) Hole Popper machine
? Knowledgeable in Additional Skills & Experience:
a) CNC Lathe experience
b) CNC Milling Machine experience (5 Axis)
c) MasterCam Programming experience
? Be responsible for safety awareness in all jobs to help eliminate injuries to yourself and your team members.

? Constantly check for safety hazards and ensure problems are rectified promptly.
? Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

? Immediately report all injuries and other safety incidents.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
? High School diploma or equivalent.
? Good verbal and communication skills.
? Good organization skills.
? Computer skills needed.
? Experience with Various hand tools, assembly tooling fixtures and machines, thread gauges, etc.
? Ability to follow verbal and written English instructions.
? The ability to read and understand drawings sketches and manufacture items off them.
