Lab Assistant for a Great Food Manufacturing Company in Compton!!!

 QA Tech.

  •  2nd shift from 2:30pm to end of shift (10:30pm-11:30pm).
  • Pay rate: $17.25/hr.

Job Description Below:

Summary: This position needs a reliable Quality Assurance/Control Technician to assist in ensuring a product or service meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitoring of established quality assurance policies and procedures
  • While monitoring, continuous improvements of monitoring efforts to assure the adequacy of quality assurance standards
  • Monitor and administer sampling procedures for recording and reporting quality data
  • Contribute to the efficiency of quality and inspection systems by finishing tasks and assignments to completion and approval of leads and supervisors.
  • Monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist in documenting internal audits and other quality assurance activities in assigned areas
  • As directed; Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data
  • Assist in analyzing data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
  • Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventative actions
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
  • Coordinate and support tasks and program building for team on-site audits conducted by external providers
  • Assist in corrective actions as directed.
  • Responsible for contributing to the document management systems as trained and requested
  • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Meet weekly with supervisor and team to assure direction and communication
  • While monitoring in area, observation of production team habits and work with production team to achieve higher levels of food safety through collaborative efforts and communication.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Critical Thinking
  • Team Cooperation

Education and Experience

  • Certifications are an advantage PCQI Human and Pet Food, HACCP
  • Quality monitoring and testing experience
  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
  • Product or industry-specific experience
  • Good communication skills Verbal and Written
  • Bi-Lingual a plus (Spanish)
  • Ability to manage personnel and work with Supervisors, team members and Directors on timelines, efficiencies within work hours and deadlines of all personnel
