Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identify and qualify potential acquisition opportunities to meet strategic goals using contacts through brokers, builders, landowners, engineers, planners, attorneys, in-house contacts, and others.
  • Work directly with senior leaders to cost analyze all lot and land acquisitions to meet the stated goals.
  • Create, manage and participate in due diligence on prospective projects to include creation/review of preliminary budgets, land planning; and review and provide comments on engineering plans
  • Assist in negotiations during acquisition of properties with landowners, attorneys or brokers.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President to review and analyze submitted site development bid packages and make suggestion for award of work
  • Create and manage project construction schedules for the duration of the project and report project status to Senior Vice President at requested intervals
  • Interface with team to assure constant communication regarding timing, access pertaining to project development status
  • Manage, coordinate resources for, and meet all entitlement needs for land acquisitions.
  • Prepare land valuation analysis and corporate budgets.
  • Prepare memoranda and other documentation and analytics for corporate approval for land buys.
  • Develop business community relationships and scout other avenues for possible acquisitions.
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company


  • At least 5 years of land acquisition experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business or Finance, Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related filed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications with advanced skills in Excel and email
  • Regular travel is required to visit divisional offices and projects. (Up to 30)
  • Reliable automobile and valid Driver's license
  • Work in a fast -paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Maintain attention to detail and follow through
  • Make decisions and resolve problems efficiently and effectively
