Lead Senior Software Engineer of Embedded Linus Devices!

We are seeking a leader for a permanent opportunity for the next generation Intelligent Vending System for our client.  They are looking for an engineer to lead a team to develop system software for Linux-based embedded computers. This position is ideal for an experienced Software Engineer with a background in device-based systems software. Prefer someone experience in the vending industry.  Excellent skills in communicating, leadership, and Linux embedded software engineering are all required to be successful in this position.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Lead a team of Software Engineers.
  • Collaborate with software and electronics manager and project managers to determine Software Architecture and development tasks, assign priorities, assign resources, determine schedules, and report progress.
  • Produce thorough and detailed design documentation, including systems architecture and module interfaces/interactions using UML methodologies
  • Analysis and troubleshooting of problems related systems integration with industry vending hardware, backend systems, and 3rd-party applications.
  • Create software tools, scripts, and automation software for validation of system operations and performance

What Do You Need to Be Successful?

  • 7-10 years C/C++ software development experience from device-level to application-level, with a focus on C++ and Linux.
  • 5 Years’ experience in leading a small team of developers is required.
  • Applications Software Architecture & Development for Embedded Linux Devices. Development of systems software for user-facing requirements, embedded system controls, internal messaging bus, and peripheral interfacing as required.
  • Experience using version control tools Subversion and GIT required. Understanding and experience in brunching strategies is desired.  Experience with Gerrit is a plus.
  • C/C++ development within an embedded multi-threaded environment required.
  • Proven work history of completing projects on time and on budget, exceeding quality goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering highly recommended.
