Job Description

Volt is hiring for a Machine Operator For 3M Ceradyne

Main tasks will be assisting in the production and manufacturing of body armor for the military.

Job Highlights:

  • Title:  Body Armor Operator
  • Pay Range: $13.69 (PAY INCREASES AFTER GETTING PERMANENTLY HIRED BY COMPANY)
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 5AM-2:30PM
  • City: Irvine, CA
  • No experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required, must pass drug test, must pass background check

 
SUMMARY: Performs work cell specific or various assembling, and finishing operations associated with the production of composite armor systems.

o Able to fold, smooth and trim nylon material using hand tools.
o Paint and stencil finished products
4. Heat Seal/packaging
o Able to fused nylon materials using a hot knife.
o Able to fine trim nylon materials when needed.
o Able to set parts in a serialize crate using production database.
o Able to scan and insert parts in bags or foam pouches.
o Able to insert parts into boxes following OMS.
o Able to serialize boxes following OMS.
? Work at other workstations as trained and when production needs require.
? Maintain a clean and safe work environment
? Responsible for compliance with all company and departmental safety policies
? Responsible for providing accurate data on all data collection forms

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
? High School diploma or GED
? No previous experience required - successful completion of training/probationary period.
? Must be able to wear respirator
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
? Able to read and interpret assembly instructions.
? Ability to acquire job skills and learn company policies and procedures to complete production tasks.
? Works on basic tasks requiring limited knowledge/comprehension of the function.
? Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
? Receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under supervision.
? Ability to master all Body Armor Operator I knowledge, skills, and abilities.
