Machine Operator

Pay $15 - $16+

Position Summary: This position operates the packaging machines for the manufacturing of beverage products by performing routine, repetitive duties. The Machine Operator performs one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, branding, typing, packing, or wrapping containers. Job includes performing cleaning and sanitation requirements to meet GMP standards. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.
  • Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor.
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as opening valves, setting guides, or clearing away damaged product containers.
  • Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications.
  • Feeds product to conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices, and unloads packaged product.
  • Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
  • Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices.
  • Presses button, or moves lever to clean, glue, label, or staple container.
  • Keep work area neat, clean and organized.
  • Preparation of case machines and all downstream equipment for operation.
  • Daily operation of case related machines and related equipment.
  • Work an eight hour shift and extended hours as required.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Tear down packages for quality checks.
  • Notify Supervisor when material/package quality issues are observed.
  • Notify Supervisor/Maintenance of any equipment issues.
  • General
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
    • All other duties as assigned.
    • Regular and punctual attendance.
