Job Description

Volt is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a local company here in Bakersfield!

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Maintenance Technician

  • Moving heavy equipment and or furniture to and from multiple floors/offices.
  • Retrieving confidential documents from multiple facilities.
  • General cleaning of the work area and organize work tools /equipment.
  • Assist in moderate work-related issues that include but not limited to plumbing, electrical, painting, demolition, cleaning, and maintenance on the overall appearance/aesthetics of all facilities.
  • Utilize tools including but not limited to: hammer, screwdriver, wrenches, hand trucks/forklifts, etc.
  • Dry-wall patch and repair.
  • Participate in troubleshooting minor/basic plumbing, electrical and H-Vac problems.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and diagnose workplace hazards.
  • Know how to retrieve work orders from the intranet.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and knowledgeable of the facilities and departments as to where they are located.
  • Learn from team members and ask questions specific to jobs that are being worked on to increase knowledge of work duties.
  • Maintaining a confidential responsibility between departments and co-workers.
  • Have own transportation to and from all of our facilities.

Education, Training, and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1-4 years of work experience
