VOLT IS HIRING A Manufacturing Technical Maintenance Manager as a direct hire!

Title: Manufacturing Technical Maintenance Manager

Salary/Wage: $80K-$100K + Benefits

Relevant Work Experience: 8 Years and must have technical experience

Education Level: BA or equivalent in related field Agri-Business, Management, Mechanical Engineering, Food Manufacturing a plus

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Every year, usually from late August to mid-October, this position requires 7 days a week and long hours to oversee and manage the harvest


  • Utilizes mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, harvest equipment, utilities (water, HVAC, nitrogen, etc.), buildings and grounds.
  • Conducting regular inspections and ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of a facility. This includes fire inspections, regulatory inspections and internal audits.
  • Responsible for building mechanical and preventative maintenance teams that will keep production equipment in excellent condition, keep lines running high efficiencies and maintain proper stock of parts.
  • Ensuring the proper working of all electrical units and systems in the facility. This includes facility metal detectors and calibration of equipment.
  • Leading a team of subordinates and delegating work areas to them.
  • Evaluating the performance of the subordinates
  • Keeping a record of all the day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken in the facility.
  • Complying with all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules (OSHA) while carrying out maintenance functions.
  • Collaborates with department managers to schedule preventative maintenance activities.
  • Oversees outside contractors performing installations and projects at the facility to ensure that safety and food safety standards are met.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Maintains time, calibration, and maintenance records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials to ensure materials are both safe and food safe
  • Aid in the development of corrective actions per internal or external audits in relation to applicable maintenance and facility upkeep.
  • Aid in the development and verification of HACCP flow diagrams and HACCP risk analysis.
  • Assists with development and installation of all capital projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BS/BA or equivalent in Agri-Business, Management, Mechanical Engineering, Food Manufacturing or other related field a plus
    • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years supervisory and 5 years of managerial experience.
    • Must have previous Maintenance Manager experience
    • Must be familiar with maintenance and repair in all aspects of the facility to include plumbing, mechanical, electrical repairs, instrumentation/controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, installation, carpentry, painting, or vehicle servicing.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive, productive, problem-solving, and high performance work teams. Ability to communicate effectively with and direct work of respective teams.
    • Displays good judgment in the face of changing priorities and multiple problems. Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Understands and enforces adherence to OSHA and Company safety guidelines. Knowledge of environmental health and sanitation.
    • Manages the huller operation during the harvest.
    • Must work well under pressure in a very fast paced environment.
    • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles.
    • Ability to manage and participate in regulatory, quality and other auditing processes and procedures.
    • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
