Volt in partnership with Qorvo would like to talk to you about a Manufacturing Technician opportunity located in Bend, OR. Our client manufactures and tests semiconductor devices in a semi clean room environment. Qualified candidates will be detail oriented, able to follow precise procedures, and able to adapt to a dynamic production environment. The primary responsibilities will include all supporting operations for ion mill and electrical test of semiconductor devices. This position works under the direction of the production supervisor, but also collaboratively with engineering and planning and logistics departments. This is a temp to hire position, once hired on our client offers great medical benefits, PTO and 401K.

 Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company policies such as those relating to safety and quality
  • Perform manual and semi-automated mill and test processes in the manufacturing of semiconductor devices (such as but not limited to microscopic inspection, oven reflow, electrical probing, data analysis)
  • Good hand/eye coordination using tweezers/vacuum wands, must be able to work under low power stereo microscope
  • Follow system procedures and build instructions including processing documents, router flows, and assembly drawings
  • Collect accurate data and record work completed using logs and databases
  • Perform PM and calibration tasks for tools and equipment
  • Monitor processes to ensure product fabrication is within control limits, work to bring processes back into control when deviations occur
  • Document meticulous notes on tool, process, product performance/conditions with escalation of trends and patterns to appropriate personnel
  • Adherence to consistent, high quality standards
  • Work with engineering team to assist with engineering builds and experiments
  • Drive implementation of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) projects
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and willingness to cross-train in additional areas
  •  Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities


  • AA/AS degree preferred (but not required)
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with test and/or assembly of microelectronic devices, minimum 2 years’ experience recommended.
  • Demonstrated application of structured problem-solving methods. 
  • Versatility and ability to work on multiple tasks.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows-based software.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be a US person
