Job Description:

This position entails the manufacture of aerospace thermal blankets, comprised of thin, fragile films sewn and taped together. Working in the Multi-Layer Insulation area (MLI). Assembly is performed in a Professional atmosphere in a Clean Room environment.

This Manufacturing Technician should be capable and experienced in working in a broad based manufacturing environment. Technician will work with a Team of several people and take direction form a Manufacturing Eng. Will ultimately report to Sr. Manager of Operations The candidate must work well alone and within a team environment.

  • Daily work attire includes lab coat and latex gloves at all times.
  • Use of industrial sewing machine, scissors, X-acto knives and common hand tools.
  • Operation of Gerber automated cutting machine and related software.
  • The candidate must work well alone and within a team environment.
  • Must possess good problem-solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and work with limited supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter, must be self-motivated, and a team player.
  • Familiarization with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control required. Requirements: A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of seven years of related experience in the above manufacturing processes required.
  • Must have the ability to be certified to applicable NASA and IPC J-Std processes
  • Must be mechanically inclined and work well with hands
  • Attention to details and high level of craftsmanship
  • Operation of industrial sewing machine
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Willing and fast learner, able to complete tasks with little supervision
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to frequent changes in task assignments
  • Read engineering drawings a must
  • Proficient use of MS Word and Excel Ideal candidate will have:
  • Computer aided design or cutting experience
  • Previous position in aerospace or similar engineering and manufacturing environment
  • Previous textile design and manufacturing (clothing, fabrics, commercial)
