We are looking to hire a Material Handler (Shipper/Receiver), to work for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for approximately a 12 months’ assignment, through our Company Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

  • Pay Rate: upto $22/hr (T4) + benefits available  (Keep in mind there is an extra premium for the Weekday Afternoon shift:  $22/hr +$0.95/hr shift premium for Weekday Afternoon shift).
  • Shift: We need candidates for either of the following shifts
    • WEEKDAY Days (Mon-Fri: 7am-3pm)
    • WEEKDAY Afternoons (Mon-Fri: 11am-7pm)
  • Term: 12-months assignment from actual start date with the possibility of extension

Reporting to the Supervisor of shipping, as a Material Handler (Shipper/Receiver), you will be responsible for Shipping and Receiving duties including crating, packaging, loading and unloading delivery trucks, and data entry into the business system 

Primary responsibilities: 

  • Compare identifying information of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records 
  • Unpack crates/cartons and receiving of product(entering information into ERP system or other) 
  • Prepare shipments for delivery, packaging orders to customer specification; prepare all process parts to ship to vendors 
  • Prepare all necessary customs documentation 
  • Organize trucks for pick-up and delivery 
  • Utilize power tools (band saw, etc.) 
  • Operate lift truck, hand tucks, and overhead crane to move, convey, or hoist shipments 
  • May be required to handle dangerous goods and materials 
  • Co-ordinate with Production Control the shuttle between Burlington and Oakville
  • Participate in CI activities 
  • Attend daily Ace Board/ LDMS and other meetings as required 
  • Receiving and Shipping of goods from Suppliers and Processors to be updated in sap 
  • May be asked to complete other tasks in the department based on skills and qualifications 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent 
  • One to three years shipping receiving experience required and must have forklift truck certification 
  • Dangerous Goods qualification would be considered an asset 
  • Demonstrated experience using overhead cranes/slings and a variety of power tools 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills 
  • Strong PC skills (ERP systems, MS Office applications) 
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment 
  • Candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP 
  • Safety Oriented
