Volt Workforce Solutions has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer to work onsite with our customer in Mossville, IL.  Please apply immediately!

The engineer in this job role will primarily conduct bolted joint tests that include clamp load monitoring using ultrasonic bolts, developing torque-turn assembly procedures, and conducting a variety of other small scale bolted joint tests.  Periodically conducting fatigue tests may also be required.  

Work Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field (e.g. mechanical, industrial, metallurgical, structural/civil, agricultural) or Material Science.
• Ability to manage multiple tests simultaneously and maintain attention to detail
• Knowledge of bolted joint and fatigue concepts, structural integrity, principles of stress and strain
• Initiative and desire to understand customer needs and product applications
• Strong analytical, organizational, time-management, teamwork and communication skills
• Aptitude and interest to learn and work in a hands-on testing and validation lab or field environment

Desired Skills/ Qualifications:

• Mechanical drawing skills such as Creo
• Hands-on experience with mechanical testing equipment, including tensile testing and fatigue testing
• Experience with data, numerical, statistical analysis, and bolted joint analysis tools
• Knowledge of test control systems, particularly with MTS FlexTest GT controller software
