Job Description

Volt is now hiring a NX CNC Programmer position for a reputable aerospace company in the city of Burbank, Ca.

Job Details:
Job Title: (NX) CNC Programmer
City: Burbank
State: California
Job Duration: Direct Hire
Schedule: 1st shift (start time 9am) or 2nd shift (start time 2:45pm); Usually work 9-10 hours a day

This qualified candidate will be working for a reputable company that supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets.

Job Summary:

The CNC Programmer designs, develops and maintains computer programs for numerically controlled machining equipment to produce fabricated parts.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and code NC part programs along with complimenting documentation required to set up and run the NC part
  • Provide operators manuals which document the methodology used in NC machine fabrication
  • Compile and test programs, incorporating required corrections and revisions to prepare tooling, programming, tapes, and documents for full production
  • Participate in design and development of appropriate tooling for NC parts
  • Prepare and document instructions for operating personnel
  • Interface with users as required
  • Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in programming.  Demonstrate your experience in Siemens NX (Unigraphics) . Experienced in generating NC programs for both Mills (up to 5 axis) and Lathes (with live tools).
  • Knowledge:
    • Full scope working knowledge of NC computer programming field sufficient to handle all regular aspects of assigned tasks.
    • Thorough knowledge of modern fabrication methods, techniques, equipment and processes.
    • Knowledge of CAM tools and equipment.
  • Skill: Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability: Ability to plan and perform complex problem solving tasks.
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Previous experience as NC Programmer in a high technology manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced programming horizontal mills as well as Mill-turn machines.
  • Ability to work with Mazak, Fadal, Toyoda, and Hardinge machine controls.
