Job Description

Our client, a large military defense company is seeking a Paint Shop Operator for their Dallas, TX location.

The Production Associate will be part of a team that is involved with the finishing of cutting edge machined components

The ideal candidate will have experience painting in the aerospace/defense manufacturing industry.

Duties include:

  • Perform advanced manual finishing techniques such as hand sanding/forming, patching/reworking surfaces with proprietary coatings, paints, and primers, performing routine thickness measurements, performing coating adhesion testing and understanding critical requirements for complex coating stacks.
  • Preparation for (cleaning, masking), application of organic coatings, and post-coat processing (demasking, marking) to a variety of substrates
  • Utilizing industrial spray equipment
  • Daily and periodic cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment and work area
  • Maintain personal protective equipment and will be expected to maintain annual training requirements in topics ranging from safety, hazardous materials, quality systems and other topics


  • Must be able to pass annual respirator physicals
  • Must be able to accomplish daily work tasks with minimum supervision and be able to work with production resources and teammates to meet production goals and satisfy customers with quality products
  • Experience in masking and part preparation techniques, application of aerospace or DOD specifications
  • Familiarity with mixing paint, corrosion resistant substrates, spray painting, curing, part marking techniques utilizing silk screen and rubber stamp
  • Must be able to work in a production environment with world-class safety expectations and standards
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks in accordance with an established proven process and to perform in-process inspection in accordance with company standards and customer specifications
  • Must have effective communication skills
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, follow work instructions specific to individual products is required. ┬áBasic knowledge of GD&T preferred
  • Familiarity with industry or military specifications is a plus
  • Must have basic math and computer skills
