Job Description

Paralegal needed in Downtown Houston. Monday to Friday 8 amto 5pm. Business Casual environment.  Pay Rate Range is Flexible.  

A well-qualified systemic employment law paralegal will have a variety of skills. They must have or can develop a good knowledge of legal terms and procedures pertaining to employment discrimination laws as it relates to the statues enforced by the EEOC. They will also need to have the ability to develop understanding of the theories of employment discrimination and protocols associated with conducting systemic investigations. They must have the ability to develop a good understanding of office procedures and office technology including case management software, excel, word, PowerPoint, access and outlook.   

Because the paralegal will manage time sensitive documents and requests, knowing how to prioritize and organize is vital. This position also requires the paralegal to work well in a team atmosphere because the teams may be under pressure to complete assignment or are dealing with emotionally charged issues that will require good interviewing and analytical skills.  Knowing how to manage and work well with a variety of people is also important. Their role will require assisting the investigative team with analysis of documentation, assisting in conducting on-sites investigation at the employer’s facility, interviewing witnesses, identify, interview and certify potential class members and monitoring agreements reached between the EEOC and employers.   

Top three must haves:

Paralegal Degrees or experience working as a paralegal for law office, corporation or government agency. 

Experience using a case management software, excel (including formulas and functions in excel), word, PowerPoint, access and outlook.

Ability to hone their research skills and learn an entire language of legal terms and definitions.
