Payroll Officer

Volt is looking to hire Payroll Officer for our Client in the Procurement industry in Montreal, QC. This role is offered on a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

We are looking for someone with experience to hit the ground running. A minimum of one year of directly related experience would be required. In this role, you will provide technical and process guidance to payroll team members.

  • Ensure delivery of timely and accurate payroll services.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal control standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical and process guidance to payroll team members.
  • Support departmental business initiatives and resources to provide continuous improvement to projects and processes.
  • Responsible for managing and monitoring daily metrics and monthly reporting.
  • Act as primary point of escalated issues from outsourced provider due to complexity and support non-standard transactions and issues with relevant degree of complexity.
  • Act as internal point of escalation for Payroll Services organization troubleshooting and issue management including the provision of technical and process guidance to the team members where required.
  • Ensure that payroll deadlines for third-party payments and reporting are met.
  • Management of the Payment Summary process monthly and at year end ensuring legislative requirements are met.
  • Main point of contact and liaison point for government bodies and co-ordination of internal and external statutory audits.
  • Works with appropriate Groups (People Services and Areas of expertise) where required to exchange information and resources.


  • At least one year of end experience related to this role;
  • Strong experience with Excel and SAP;
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English is an asset.
