Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Process Engineer with a background within plastics and extrusion to work at their Boston, MA facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own projects from cradle to grave.
  • Design tooling and develop processes for mono and co-extrusion plastic profiles, tubes and secondary fabrication individually or with other process engineers
  • Leading the new tooling process
  • Liaison within the teams to coordinate the tooling needs.
  • Guide the machining being done for the tooling to ensure it meets the design needs and company standards.
  • Work with the machine shop staff for scheduling work activities and communicating to engineering and leadership on timelines and jobs being complete.
  • Use Autocad and Cad/Cam knowledge to be the point of contact to voice areas of need with vendors regarding machines for the machine shop.
  • Work with Procurement Manager to identify and obtain items needed for machine shop.
  • Support other departments with their tooling needs when needed.
  • Be on the shop floor and working with production to identify issues and resolve efficiently while also looking at continuous improvements.
  • Mentor and train team members.
  • Work on tool development trials.
  • Maintain engineering database.

Required Qualifications:

  • Be able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Prior experience being hands on and willing to work on the production floor with the teams.
  • A good understanding and experience with plastic extrusion process, terminology, and tooling.
  • Able to have a clear understanding of the customer requirements and application.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects while still maintaining the attention to details.
  • Ability to get creative when needed and think outside the box.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
