Job Description

Process Technician

This contract manufacturing company located in Everett, Washington is seeking two  Process Technicians. One technician for night shift and one for the weekend shift.  The Process Technician responsibilities involve performing basic tests and experiments for process engineering. ITAR clearance required. Included, but not limited to, are the following responsibilities:

• The employee shall be knowledgeable of and perform his or her job in accordance with corporate policies and procedures. ATS has established metrics with job performance goals and objectives. The employee shall understand the metrics that apply to his or her job and understand how they contribute to the stated objectives
• The employee shall follow proper Electro Static Discharge (ESD) procedures at all times and be knowledgeable of and perform job in accordance with proper material handling procedures and guidelines
• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of methods, policies, and procedures for processing and manufacturing customer products to industry accepted or customer specified standards and requirements
• Review of supporting manufacturing documentation to ensure it contains necessary criteria and provisions to permit the effective production of the product
• Collect and analyze data
• Recommend corrective action for procedural, product, process, or design deficiencies
• Assist with or produce labor quotations for new products or current product revisions
• Support of the Material Review Board (MRB) by evaluating and inspecting materials along with providing disposition and corrective action plans when required
• Work with a customer’s personnel on issues related to their product’s design and quality
• Works with the manufacturing, test, and quality personnel to ensure that effective manufacturing, test, and inspection procedures and processes are implemented and maintained
• Specify the equipment and processes necessary to manufacture products in compliance with customer specified requirements
• Interpret and explain work instructions, specifications, and the use of manufacturing equipment, tools, fixtures, jigs, etc.
• Assist with the resolving of technical problems
• Confer with technical personnel and supervisors on reported assembly issues and problems
• Other duties as assigned


• Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
• Three to five years electronic manufacturing experience at the technical level or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Manufacturing environment experience required or preferred


• Identification of component types, both through-hole and surface mount (i.e.: capacitors, diodes, relays, crystals, etc)
• Identification of component values
• Knowledge of IPC 600 and IPC 610 specifications for SMT and through-hole technologies and how to apply them
• Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas; pwb fabrication, SMT processes, automated through-hole assembly, wave soldering and cleaning, manual/box build tooling and assembly techniques, development of labor and machine standards. RoHS/WEEE and lead-free assembly experience is a plus
• Knowledge of ISO requirements and how to work within an ISO environment
• Bill of Materials (BOM) reading and AVL interpretation skills along with blueprint/assembly drawing reading and tolerance stack up skills
• PC skills and the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of software
• Fourth Shift? a plus
• Understanding of acceptable rework methods and standards
• Mechanical aptitude
• Strong working knowledge in MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)
• Strong customer service focus
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills (including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, policies and procedure manuals – if applicable)
• Strong teaming skills
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Be flexible, adaptable, able and willing to modify activities and direction with an ever-changing business environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
• Possess a professional attitude and promote the same in others
