Volt is seeking a Senior Content Strategist-Remote opportunity based in Santa Clara, CA.

 Job Description:

The Senior Content Strategist will develop content strategies that satisfy customers, business needs, and information design throughout the entire digital customer journey on the clients website. You will devise and make improvements to best practices, processes, and tools used by marketing managers and content authors throughout the company. As a content strategist, you will be setting guidelines and coaching others throughout the company to create high-quality, engaging content that delivers results. You will be joining the Content Strategy team in the Digital Channel group, which is charged with transforming the digital experience.  Are you up for the challenge?

Your specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop customer-focused digital content solutions that support brand objectives and user goals, maximizing engagement and usability while incorporating best practices for search engine optimization and analytics.
  • Conduct strategic content assessments (qualitative and quantitative) to identify content opportunities to support the business and customers’ needs. You will leverage data analysis, user research, and content audits to inform your content strategy decisions.
  • Create best practices for marketers and content authors throughout the company to follow. You will develop content guidelines that support customer needs, business objectives, content lifecycle management, enterprise content strategy, and centralized governance, with the goal of creating scalable strategies.
  • Lead or support information architecture development based on digital customer experience strategy and insights from key product, marketing, support, sales, and service stakeholders.
  • Work with a matrixed team of stakeholders to create, review, and gain consensus around strategies, information architectures, and standards.
  • Conduct content inventories and audits to identify current content and future content needs.
  • Create and give presentations to train and guide internal customers, including marketing managers and content authors. Build playbooks and cheat sheets for others to follow. Champion content strategy to our internal stakeholders.
  • Document business requirements for platform or template improvements needed for improved content experiences, and work with product owners as a business driver to make the changes.
  • As a senior-level content strategist, you will take a leadership role in identifying opportunities and challenges, take the initiative to collaborate with others to come up with solutions to meet immediate and long-term goals, and then work with others to drive results.

Use strong project management skills as needed, including identifying potential bottlenecks and risks for overall project timing and quality.
Strong communicator able to synthesize and communicate project specifications among internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong collaboration and personal leadership skills with ability to drive cross-functional teams forward and build consensus, including presenting best practices and guiding business stakeholders through content strategy discussions.
  • Ability to leverage data analysis, user research, benchmarking, and content audits to facilitate/inform content decisions and orchestrate content deployment/access. You must be able to synthesize information from multiple sources, and come up with content strategy that satisfies different needs simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform detailed content analysis and gap analysis with supporting documentation used to inform content definitions and information architecture.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage concurrent projects.
  • Experience in the development of content inventories and taxonomies.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices, and ability to train others on SEO best practices.
  • Diverse creative experience in information architecture and digital content strategy. Some experience with online merchandising and catalog management is ideal.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in developing interactive content.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience in online content strategy, preferably in the life science and/or chemical analysis industry.
  • At least 5-8 years of experience with content and digital asset management systems.
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree
