Job Description

Stable Electronic Component company seeking a skilled professional with strong Administrative and Procurement experience in Manufacturing to join their dynamic team! 

Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager and the Buyer / Planner, the Production Expediter helps coordinate the efficient flow of materials into and out of the production process to ensure adherence to deadlines.  Core responsibilities center on understanding production schedules and monitoring Purchase Orders and reporting daily or weekly on delivery status to ensure all critical materials arrive on production floor on time.  The position requires strong partnerships with the Assembly, Planning, Purchasing, Inventory, Shipping Departments, and extraordinary attention to detail.    

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist Planners, QA, Assembly, Purchasing, Shipping to ensure that key products move through the system without errors or delay.  Specifically:
  • Expedite material out of Materials Department to fill kits / shortages
  • CKS – move kits and take directly to set up and/or production areas on timely basis
  • MRO - pick up and stock production lines as needed
  • Req’s – pull parts and distribute directly to associates
  • Contested shortages – count material and verify stock counts in the warehouse
  • Line Returns – process and return parts to Inventory
  • Create and distribute job material kits.  If materials are damaged or running low, expedite inventory replenishment by working directly with Purchasing.
  • Maintain working knowledge of ERP data system and perform various tasks within the system.
  • Provide job status updates on weekly published spreadsheets, or more often as necessary.
  • With Buyer / Planner, successfully resolve impediments to product completion and shipment.

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years working in planning, inventory, scheduling, project supervision, supply chain, etc., preferably within an electronic manufacturing environment.  Aerospace experience is a plus.
  • Certification in Project Management is preferred.  May be offset by tenure, term, working knowledge, etc. 
  • Knowledge of purchasing / supply chain, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word, Outlook, etc. is a must.  Epicor / Vantage experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills -- to all levels within the company and to customers – are essential. 
  • Organizational ability with great attention to detail is a must.
