Production Lead

Santa Rosa, CA

Day Shift

Volt Workforce Solutions has an opening for a Production Lead position for a large client based in Santa Rosa, CA. You will be responsible for monitoring the work of shift employees in a medical manufacturing and assembly environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and recertification to production operators per job requirement (OMS and II). 
  • Plan and implement competency audits for process and quality procedures. 
  • Serve as “Point of Contact” for production floor status, including current issues affecting the process. 
  • Provide training on how to properly complete all data collection forms (i.e. Device History Records, Time Sheets, Reject Sheets… etc.) to all operators, Floor Walkers, Material Handlers, Process Techs and Die Setters. 
  • Monitor IQMS for work center performance and address issues affecting quality and efficiency. 
  • Work with Production Supervisor and Scheduling to meet order requirements for on-time delivery. 
  • Support Production Supervisor by establishing the daily operator work assignments, break schedules, and adjustments throughout the shift. 
  • Verify Work Order completion and initiate Line Clearance. Verify all documents are accurate.
  • Confirm at job start-up that the work center is organized, the Floor Walker has provided all needed tools and packaging, and that it is staffed to minimize downtime. 
  • Monitor inventory level and conduct inventory adjustments as necessary. 
  • Participate with the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and data collection processes to monitor quality, cost, responsiveness and delivery goals. 
  • Need to be able to use IQMS and back up daily production reporting. 
  • Back up Floor Walker when necessary to maintain an efficient production flow. 
  • Monitor department supplies and request from Purchasing when needed. 
  • Collaborate with various departments to satisfy Quality, Safety, Cost and on time delivery of product. 
  • Provide employees with the necessary tools to be successful with their tasks. 


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Work well in team environment. 
  • Demonstrate active listening skills. 
  • Possess and demonstrate problem solving skills. 
  • Great attendance record. 
  • Ability to lead others. 
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision. 
  • Proficient in basic mathematics. 
  • Computer Skills (Internet, Word, Excel, Outlook, IQMS, etc.) 
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
