Production Operator - Junior Lead in Edison, NJ at Volt

Job Description

VOLT Workforce Solutions has partnered with a manufacturing company  in personal care and skincare products located in Edison, NJ. They are currently in need of Junior Lead Production Operators  for the 1^st and 2^nd shift due to company expansion!  In this role you will be responsible for preparing a production line for operation and completing production orders working hand and hand with the Lead Production Operator.  Your responsibilities will  include assisting with equipment set-up, packaging staging, completing pre-operation checklists.

About the Job

• Inspect all installed filling equipment (feed hoppers, pumps, hoses, labelers, tapers, conveyors, etc). to ensure they are all clean, sanitized, and ready for operation. 
• Pull all required data for the scheduled production run from the company operating system for line set-up and pre-operation.  
• Select, transfer and stage system to the filling line, and conduct all pre-operational checks, including the filling of the feed hopper and samples to ensure all equipment and the full production line is ready for production.
• Lead the full production run by operating one of the critical production roles on the line. 
• Close out orders with Area managers and Data Analysts
• Shutdown, count and weigh all returned bulk and components, and clear the line for future production. 

Qualifications needed:

• 1-3 years of experience in production/manufacturing.  
• Experienced in setting up of production equipment and working with basic tools
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Bilingual Spanish highly preferred 
• Excellent communication, basic math skills. 
• Experience with entering and retrieving data from computer systems. 
• Flexibility and willingness to work in a constantly changing operation with enthusiasm. 
• Excellent attention to detail and following written SOPs and verbal instructions. 
• Ability to perform physical labor as needed to move, stage, and handle pallets, packaging, and products

Open positions are available are for 1^st and  2^nd shift- Monday to Friday
** Training will all be for 2-4 weeks during 1^st shift- no exceptions**

1^st shift start time between 7:00-7:30 AM  to 3:30 -4:00 PM
2nd shift start time between 3:00-3:30PM to12:30AM to 1:00AM
** Start times may vary depending on production needs ** 

Pay Rate
$16.00-$18.00/hr
