Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking Production Supervisors to work onsite at John Deere’s facility in Davenport, IA. This is a contingent position expected to last 1 year.   

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • As a Production Supervisor at John Deere in Davenport, IA you will provide work direction for fabrication employees as well as be responsible for meeting safety, quality, delivery and efficiency goals.
  • Administer contracts and proper pay.
  • Serve as first-line liaison between production employees and management staff and represent company’s interested with shop floor staff. 
  • Establish the employee environment regarding communications, feedback and overall guidance.
  • Ensure that your personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job.
  • Administer employee polices, practices, procedure and work rules appropriate for the business.
  • Monitor individual and department performance and take corrective action.
  • Make daily assignments including filling vacancies and assigning overtime in order to adhere to customer demand.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Experience analyzing date to monitor performance in safety, quality, delivery and budget.
  • Experience with mixed model assembly lines in an operations setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with tenacity in resolving problems and exceeding goals
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, as well as experience in organized planning, and making day to day decisions with integrity
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and with all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Ability to be flexible in order to support a 3 shift operation
  • 2 or more years of manufacturing supervisory experience What Makes
  • Experience working with Continuous Improvement or CI200 methods and applications in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience administering a Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP) or other group performance pay plan
  • Experience with application of the John Deere Quality & Production System or other production systems
  • Experience mentoring and coaching
  • Experience as a Project Manager • Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems such as SAP Education (or equivalent work experience)
  • Bachelor's degree Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology, Business Management, or equivalent discipline
