Job Description

Volt has partnered with a leading general contracting firm based in Austin, TX, specializing in ground-up and new, adaptive reuse and remodel construction in the healthcare, restaurant, hospitality, corporate, manufacturing, industrial, and technology environments. This award-winning firm is looking for a Project Engineer to join their growing team. This is a direct hire opportunity. 

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordination of day-to-day activities of active construction projects in consultation with the Project Manager.


  • Aid in procuring all necessary permits and temporary utilities for project coordination with Project Manager and Superintendent
  • Coordinate project start-up and project close-out following company checklists
  • Assist in developing accurate and inclusive subcontractor/supplier scope sheets
  • Ensure all RFIs are submitted on time to support the construction schedule
  • Create, organize, maintain, review and distribute information and specific project documentation including submittals, RFI’s, drawing logs etc.
  • Attend all project meetings; to include all hand-off meetings, update meeting minutes, prepare all materials for meetings
  • Facilitate communication between design team, client, construction managers, property managers, internal team members and subcontractors
  • Maintain, organize and distribute project plan revisions and/or addendums to suppliers, subcontractors, and internal team members to request any price or scope impacts to the project
  • Support team members with necessary reprographics via scanning, printing, or ordering plan sets of blueprints
  • Work with project team to schedule subcontractors as well as subcontractor deliveries
  • Assist Project Manager to input all owner change orders into Master Builder and distribute accordingly
  • Help to resolve all subcontractor and trade partner invoices with billing expectations with the Project Accountant and Project Manager
  • Attend punch walks for all projects, generate itemized list, and distribute to subcontractors and team members with noted deadline of completion


  • 2 years of experience within commercial construction working on ground-up projects of $10MM or more in value
  • Proven ability to coordinate, organize, schedule and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, duties, projects and responsibilities at once
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse project personnel
  • Strong general computer skills, including MS Excel and Word
  • Experience utilizing Sage 100 Contractor/Master Builder with ability to quickly learn new trade-related software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred
