Under the supervision of the Engineering and Design Director, originates technical proposals and develops designs to meet basic customer specification requirements. Supervises drafting in making proposal and production drawings. Supervises design projects including proposal, design, data, manufacture support, test, and production support.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position. However, the Project Engineer may work with and provide guidance to Design Engineers to produce detailed engineering calculations and analyses.

Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor of Science degree with major studies in mechanical or aeronautical engineering, or the equivalent in progressively responsible experience in product design and development (in the precision metals industry as applied to aircraft or missile design, including two years of specialization related to the product lines of this company) in addition to the experience described hereafter
Advanced knowledge of physics, engineering mechanics and mathematics through analytical and descriptive geometry, trigonometry, differential and integral calculus; knowledge of the principles of stress analysis, thorough understanding of specifications, such as MIL, AN, MS, NAS, ASTM, AMS, etc. Good working knowledge of the manufacturing techniques, process and equipment and laboratory methods and tests. Ability to analyze problems methodically, to draw realistic conclusions and to apply them in a practical manner. High degree of accuracy and alertness to details.
Prior experience with finite element modeling and analysis, data/report writing, vibration data processing and Vibration report writing, program/update design tools on TK, engineering design manual updates, new product(s) development, design of experiments and vibration fixturing is preferred.
Language Skills: Must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills; must have the ability to read, comprehend, present, and write (in English) correspondence, blue prints, technical journals and drawings, policies, procedures, etc.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving many variables in various situations.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to effectively multi-task and quickly change from one task to the next and back. Must be a detail orientated, self-administrator able to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
